about

Next in line for the black plastic treatment is Trisector, as Med School break down more boundaries by unearthing another glittering new talent for the unsuspecting d&b fraternity. Breakbeat enthusiasts will know him as one half of Finnish duo Takomo who have released on labels such as Botchit and have been aided by DJ support from the likes of Annie Nightingale and Tayo. At the end of 2007 Trisector picked up his drum & bass production, which is now as calculated and complex as the mathematical theorem from which he gets his name.

Trisector quickly caught the attention of fellow d&b countrymen Muffler, Resound, Fanu and Physics before his music found the ears of Blu Mar Ten and Chris Goss at Hospital Records. Now he can now add the likes of London Elektricity (BBC Essential Mix November 2008), Nerm (BBC Radio 1 / BBC Asian Network) and High Contrast to the growing list of DJ support.

The musical dexterity demonstrated in Trisector‘s down-tempo excursions effortlessly transcends into this versatile release. “Morning Rain” opens with scintillating atmospherics and well-groomed beats before rolling out a dubby bassline, taking the dancefloor way deep. The tech-driven sound of “Structured Light” turns up the heat with its neuro persuasions, growling synthwork and bleepy hook. If that wasn’t enough, Trisector enrols the help of fellow Finn Naraka for the bass-heavy “Blindspot”, adding an ingenious third dimension to Med School’s 13th release.
